Help Delivered Dish Fight Hunger in our Communities!

blogHere at Delivered Dish, we want to help with hunger in any way we can. Usually that means bringing some hot and tasty food to your door when you order from one of our partner restaurants, but for many people hunger is a daily struggle. We’re excited to be partnering once again with the Food Bank of the Rockies, Oregon Food Bank and San Diego Food Bank to collect non-perishable food items from our customers to help feed millions of people in the Denver, Portland, and San Diego metro areas.

While the giving season of the Holidays may be over, there are still many people who will continue to struggle with hunger throughout the year. Food insecurity hurts families, seniors, those who are disabled and especially children. It affects people who are unemployed or underemployed, but is also a problem for those working full-time or retired. Studies show that chronic hunger can have negative impacts on health, work productivity, and learning potential in both adults and children. More than 34% of the households who are helped by the food banks we’re partnering with have children under the age of 18 and research shows childhood hunger and malnutrition can lead to irreversible health problems later in life.

So of course you want to help, right? Well if you order from Delivered Dish this January and February, we’re going to make it really easy for you. You can donate six(6) non-perishable food items and get $5 off your order as a thanks for your donation. When you order online at or you place your order with us by phone, just mention the coupon code FOODBANK. The discount will be immediately applied to your order and we will collect your non-perishable items at the door when we arrive with your order! In 2013 we were able to donate almost 10,000 pounds of food to help hungry families, and this year we need your help to meet or exceed that number!

This offer cannot be combined with any other promotions and will be good through 2.28.2014, so please share this with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ and help us do some good and help us feed those struggling with hunger.
